FOREST SCHOOL/OUTDOOR LEAD PRACTITIONER WANTED!
We’re looking for a passionate Outdoor Lead, to provide outstanding learning and play opportunities for our children through our outdoor environment. This person will inspire our children (and colleagues!) with their love for the nature, understanding that all areas of the EYFS can be covered outdoors, as well as in.
Our successful colleague will use the Outdoors to nurture our CHILD-based curriculum, fostering a love for the environment while developing the children’s resilience, problem-solving, physical and communication skills.
They will need to plan and deliver weekly Forest School sessions for the children in our Secret Garden and the Upper Lawn, following Health and Safety guidance and conducting regular Risk Assessments – for children aged 2 years+.
Our chosen team member will maintain and care for our Secret Garden and Upper Lawn, and should continually look at ways in which to improve our outdoor environment, for the benefit of all our children.
Candidates should all have worked in early years settings – either as a practitioner, or leading Outdoor Learning – and will hold a full and relevant Wildplay or Forest School qualification. They must also hold a Paediatric First Aid certificate, and will need a clear enhanced DBS check (this can be arranged through the Nursery)
HOURS: Wednesdays 9.30am – 3pm, plus two more 2-hour morning sessions on two other set days (to be discussed with Nursery).

Alice joined Beech House as an apprentice. She rose to Group Leader and then to Room Leader, as well as spending time as a child’s One:to:One support worker: hear about her journey with the Woodlands Nursery Group.
Lauren completed firstly her Level Two apprenticeship, and then her Level Three apprenticeship with the Woodlands Nursery Group.
Emily joined the Nursery Group as an apprentice, before moving on to do her Foundation Degree and Degree whilst working with us. She worked at both Beech House and Oak House, and is now Deputy Head of Oak House Nursery School.
